One man asked Prophet Mohammed (saw) that
Ya Rasool Allah(saaw)
What will make me the most respectable person in society?
Prophet Mohammed (saw) replied
“Never speak about your needs to others and never ask for favors you will be the most respectable person in this whole world.”
One Man came to Prophet Mohammed (saw) and said
Ya Rasool Allah one man is insulting me so much
Prophet Mohammed (saw) answered Be patient and forgive him.
Then One day again he came and told
Ya Rasool Allah (saw) Today he has insulted me in front of others.
Prophet Mohammed (saw) said to be patient and just let go!
Once again he comes and complaint
Ya Rasool Allah (saw) Today he has crossed the limits he has insulted me in front of the whole party and group of people.
Prophet Mohammed(saw) replied congratulations then!
Allah is happy with you and he is in agreement with you and he tests the people who are dear to him.
Once Prophet Mohammed (saw) was sitting and two persons disagreed on something.
One person started insulting and disrespecting the other person.
But the other person kept quiet!
The person goes on and on blaming and insulting but the other person still kept quiet.
Rasool Allah (saaw) was smiling.
Then after a long time in the end the other person started taking his defense and answering that insulting person.
Rasool Allah(saw) stood up and went away.
The next day he asked
Ya Rasool Allah(saw) When that person was insulting me you did not speak up and when I took my defense you went away?
Why?
Rasool Allah(saw) replied when you were not taking your defense and being silent angels from heaven were taking your defense and I could see them and I was smiling at them and when you started taking your defense they vanished and I did not sit in the party where there are no angels.
Islam teaches us to forgive let go and be silent when others find faults, complain, blame and insult us.
Because it is not in their hands it is in the hands of Allah to give you respect and take your defense.
One day
One man asked
Moula Ali (R.A)
Ya Ali (R.A) What I should do to get respect from others and save myself from insult and disrespect.
He replied Be afraid of your sins because it is because of sins and wrongdoings you fall into getting disrespect from the society.
Do good and do what is righteous to please Allah when you are confident that you are not doing wrong and Allah is pleased with you then leave everything to him he will take care of your respect.
